Swiss Final presentation and award ceremony on 25 February 2015
The CFA Institute Research Challenge is an equity research competition amoung student teams from the world's top university business and finance programs. Students write an equity research report on a publicly traded company and present their findings to an expert panel. The teams are judged on their written reports, their presentations and a winner is selected. Throughout the competition, leading investment professionals volunteer as mentors and judges and teach the students best practices in equity research and corporate analysis. Learn more about the Research Challenge.
CFA Society Switzerland hosted the local competition on the CFA Institute Research Challenge for the sixth year in conjunction with participating universities. The universitites assemble teams of 3-5 business and finance students who worked directly with Sonova - the company selected for the Challenge - in researching and preparing their analysis.
The team's reports and final presentations were evaluated by a high-profile panel of judges (composed of heads of research, portfolio managers, and chief investment officers from Switzerland's leading financial firms). The teams presented prior to the award ceremony on 25 February 2015 in the Aula of the University of Zurich with the winning team receiving prize money of CHF 3,000.
The Swiss champions will advance to the EMEA regional competition, which will take place in Amsterdam, The Netherlands on 1-2 April 2015 and hopefully to the global final which will take place on 17 April 2015 in Atlanta, Georgia/USA.
