CFA Society Switzerland boasts over 3100 members in Switzerland, against barely 100 in 1996 at inception. It is the largest CFA Institute society in continental Europe. With more than 1500 candidates taking the rigorous Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) exam in Switzerland each year, the Society’s impact on the Swiss investment community is self-evident. The Society runs two flagship event series besides its monthly Continuing Education (CE) events:
Swiss Pensions Conferences
The Swiss Pensions Conference (SPC) is the leading independent event for pensions decision makers in Switzerland and CFA Society Switzerland’s flagship events since 2012. SPC is conducted annually with two instalments, covering the French speaking part in Geneva (mostly in French) and German speaking Switzerland in Ruschlikon (mostly German).
Two Agenda Teams, based in Geneva and Zurich, composed of volunteer pension experts from highly recognised institutions, convene every year to approach the unique annual motto from two different angles, applying CFA Switzerland’s unique Peers 4 Peers approach. This will afford delegates to either or both parts the opportunity to grasp the subtle differences in practice and approach between both parts of the country.
The Generations Conference (GC) is an independent, personable forum of education addressing relevant wealth creation and preservation matters. GC is dedicated to the real issues and unique challenges facing HNWI and wealthy asset owners, family businesses, Family Offices (FOs) and Family Foundations in Switzerland and globally. The conference offers a one day programme to a select number of professionals working for FOs and interested to connect with like-minded thought leaders and peers in the industry and discuss challenges, leading practices and trends in FO management, wealth preservation, investing and much more. The event language is English.
In 2018 the inaugural GC18 event attracted industry known speakers and panelists, brought together over 110 delegates from the industry in ten different countries (China, France, Germany, Iran, Italy, Liechtenstein, Netherlands, Switzerland, UK, USA) and was positively received by all participants.
Formerly known as the Swiss Society of Investment Professionals CFA Society Switzerland is a non-profit organization, set up in 1996 as an association under Swiss Law and run by a board of volunteers. It was the first society of CFA charterholders in the EMEA region to be directly affiliated with the prestigious CFA Institute, which globally includes more than 150’000 members and 151 affiliated local member societies.
